Google getting serious about Gphone?

There have been many Gphone rumors going around lately and some may be in fact true. The Wall Street Journal, known for telling the truth, is reporting that Google is in “advanced talks” with Verizon and Sprint and has made “significant progress” with T-Mobile, with an announcement of some kind coming within two weeks. The news sent Google stock past $700 today, although it’s still not clear if Google is only developing its own software or making an entire handset. Any way, it looks like Google’s getting ready to make a move sometime soon, and with all the rumors going around it is likely to be a big deal.

Wireless speakers have been around for a while, but this pair is different, than most, designed for outdoor use. The Wireless Outdoor Monophonic One-Speaker System with 2.4GHz Transmitter for iPod and MP3 from Sharper Image shows off a 50 meter operating range and has just one weather-resistant wireless speaker that can be upgraded to “stereo” using an auxiliary speaker which is not included but available. At least your guests will be entertained at the get together with this $199.95 device. It is compatible with your iPod, MP3, CD player, and other devices that use a compatible AUX IN jack.
